Meizu is turning the heat on with fire hose of new launches, with the Meizu 3, Meizu M3 Note and the Meizu Pro 6 launched in quick succession. Meizu has launched the new Meizu M3 (budget smartphone) today in China.
The Meizu M3 is the successor to the Meizu M2 (launched in India, Oct’15, Price Rs. 6,999) which is a very popular smartphone in the sub 8K price range. The new Meizu M3 comes with 5.0 inch IPS LCD HD display while the Meizu M3 Note (launched on 7th April 16) comes with a 5.5 inch Full HD display.
The Meizu M3 Note is more expensive and powerful compared to the Meizu M3. The Meizu M3 is priced at CNY 599 or Rs. 6500 for the 2GB /16GB storage variant and CNY 699 or Rs. 7600 for the 3GB /32 GB version. The price for the Meizu M3 Note starts at Rs. 10,499.
Meizu on 15th April 2016, launched the 6 GB RAM , 10 Cores (Helio X25 Processor) powered Meizu M6 Pro. The PRO 6 have similar force touch display like the Apple iPhone 6s and is priced at Rs. 27,000. Unfortunately, available in China only.
The Meizu M3 comes with identical design to the Meizu M2 and has a poly-plastic build with vibrant colors.
The Meizu M3 comes with a 5.0 inch IPS LCD display with 293 PPI and Schott Xensation (similar to Gorilla Glass) cover glass for protection. The Meizu M3 is powered by the latest SOC from Mediatek MTK 6750 (4 Cortex A-53 Cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and 4 Cores at 1.0 GHz). It is a new processor from Mediatek and was launched along with the Helio P10 (MTK 6755).
The processor is coupled with 2 GB Ram or 3 GB RAM depending on the variant. The Meizu M3 comes with Flyme OS, with Android Lollipop 5.1.
The Meizu M3 comes with a 13 Megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) with Phase Detection autofocus and Led Flash. The front camera is a 5 Megapixel shooter to take selfies. The smartphone has dual sim support and offers 4G LTE connectivity along with the native 3G and 2G support.
The smartphone comes with decent 2870 mAH battery capacity and can work all day without a need to charge it twice. The Meizu M3 weighs 132 grams and has a thickness of 8.3 mm. The smartphone will be available in Grey, Gold , White , Pink and gold colors.
Egregiously, Meizu has decided not to include the fingerprint scanner in the Meizu M3. While a myriad of other devices comes with it, in this price range.
Meizu has been strengthening its portfolio with quick recent launches and we are awaiting eagerly for all the new shiny Meizu devices to arrive in India.
