Something delicious is cooking in the Motorola Camp. They have already sent an invite to media for the 17 May 2016 for the launch of new smartphones. The event is going to happen in New Delhi and will be a major event after a long hibernation. In the last event, they launched the Motorola Moto X-Force
Last week internet was abuzz about the upcoming Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus leaks, now rumor mill has some intriguing information about the upcoming Moto X (4th Gen) 2016. But before we get into that there is also news that Lenovo can change the branding for Motorola smartphones and introduce the Moto by Lenovo branding for the devices made by Motorola.
So far Motorola has been an independent brand and has done well in the Indian market and was the pioneer of e-commerce smartphone sales in India along with Flipkart. However, it is yet not shared by Motorola if they would be launching the Moto X 4th Gen or the Moto G 4th Gen models.
A new benchmark test from GeekBench has revealed some details about the Moto Flagship.
In the listing the model name is written as Motorola XT-1650 which gives a little déjà vu effect as the model name of the previous Moto X style was somewhat similar ,” Motorola XT-1575″. This gives us enough evidence the new smartphone is closer to release it can happen on 17 May or possibly in June 2016.
Given the benchmark scores, the performance numbers hint at the use of flagship processor. The single core score and multi-score matches to the scores of most of the flagship devices with the Snapdragon 820 chipset.
The single core score is 2309 and the Multi-Core score is 5344 which makes it the fastest Motorola smartphone out there. The smartphone is running on the Android Marshmallow 6.0 and we don’t expect Android N to feature on any devices before the launch of next Google Nexus mobiles.
There is also 4 GB RAM which augments the SD 820 in the upcoming Motorola smartphone.
This could actually be a successor to the Moto X Style which comes with comparatively slower Snapdragon 808 processor and 3 GB Ram. Motorola may like to launch a Snapdragon 820 Flagship to counter Samsung S7, HTC 10 , LG G5 and Xiaomi Mi5.
There were some of the leaks about the upcoming Moto X 2016 which hinted at an all metal build and even showcased an image for the upcoming device. The final design may change or can be similar to the below image.
In the earlier conferences Lenovo’s CEO ,” Yang Yuan Quan” had mentioned that Motorola models launching in 2016 will have a fingerprint reader. It will be interesting to see if Motorola plans to include a home button and add a front fingerprint scanner.
Unfortunately, the listing provides lesser details about the smartphone. However, Motorola may like to have a Quad-HD display on the device with a 5.2 to 5.5-inch screen and a better camera system than we have seen on the previous models.
The release of the benchmark scores has increased our curiosity what is going to get unfolded at the 17th May event and what Motorola leaves for the future.
