The startup named Manohm Inc. has shown us a unique design of smartphone
which is round in shape and even smaller than conventional bar phone
that we used to carry. It looks like a compass but it looks remarkable.
If you are looking for a phone that will
stand out in the crowd, then you can give this device a try. The
circular device is named as Runcible. It was developed
by a startup named Manohm. According to the sources, Runcible is to be
shipped last year only but due to some obstacles, it couldn’t ship on
time.
During the start of the company it had only three members, they succeeded to pull up the entire phone based on Firefox OS
but they pull up hard time finding the right processor that could run
Firefox OS. Due to some bad luck, when they managed to find the suitable
processor to run Firefox OS on it, the Manufacturer discontinued the
chip even firefox pulled out the OS too.
Manohm co-founder and CEO Aubrey
Anderson said “I think we hit probably every possible obstacle that you
can hit” The setback was so hard that one of the co-founders had to
leave the project and get a “real job” to support his family.
However, the Runcible was born which is completely different from the earlier one. The new one is running on BuniOS which is based on Android 5.1.
It is having Snapdragon 410 Quad core, ARM cortex A53 1.2Ghz. It will
be sharing 1GB LPDDR3 RAM and an internal storage capacity of 8GB eMMC.
It has the display of 2.5inch which is
fully round, and 7megapixel camera at the backside. It also includes the
interfaces like USB 2.0, SPI, UART etc, It also had Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
4.1, 4G support. It was available at indiegogo website for $399 the
pre-orders will end on June 30.
